We recommend having your pet microchipped for several reasons. First, if you plan on travelling with your pet, it is often necessary to have "permanent identification" for identifying your pet. This includes either a microchip or tattoo. Often, the microchip number has to be listed on the pet's rabies certificate in order for it to ensure vaccination verification. Second, if the pet is stolen or gets away from the owner, having a microchip is proof of ownership and returns the pet to the owner more quickly when found.
