Kempsville Veterinary Hospital is one of Virginia Beach's oldest practices with a history of service going back to the 1960's. Kempsville Veterinary Hospital was initially a jointly owned practice begun by Dr. Leon Leach, Dr Garland Pugh, Dr James Bostic and Dr. Robert Stephenson. In the mid 1970's diverging interests led the owners to separate and pursue individual practices with Dr Stephenson retaining sole ownership; until the practice was sold in September 1994 to Dr. William J Price (former co owner of River Shores Animal Hospital). In November of 2023, Kempsville was sold to Dr. Hung Vu, who also owns Hilltop Veterinary Clinic, where hours were expanded and urgent care services were added to the practice's offered services.
KVH has long been known as a stable and caring hospital. This is shown not only in our stable environment and the long term employment of doctors and staff, but also in the long term relationship with our clients. Many have been coming since they came with their parents as children and now bring their children to visit with us, as we treat their pets.
Our motto is to treat every pet as we would want our pets treated and to treat every client as we ourselves would wish to be treated.
